On a more serious note, we are here to raise awareness among consumers of the moving service industry and explain to them what their rights are and what their options are. We’re passionate about providing the public with adequate and reliable information so that they’re fully equipped with the tools and knowledge to decipher between honest movers and unscrupulous movers. Unfortunately, most of the time consumers are misled to believe that a moving broker who sounds American on the phone is the moving company that will show up at their door. Often these brokers over-promise and they intentionally underestimate the cost of the moving service only to swindle the customer into making a deposit and paying a lump sum of money upfront. The situation escalates when the movers who arrive on moving day are equally corrupt or worse and none of them speak English then, customer service seize to exist. The first lie the foreman will tell the customer is they have “more cubes” than what was in the original estimate.
These scam artists usually will hold your belongings, hostage, until you pay their outrageous demands. Their narrative is the customer has more household goods than what the broker estimated, plus a few exaggerations. It’s extremely rare, but when the broker happens to give an accurate estimate, the foreman who shows up cons the customer into believing that they have more household goods than what they factually do. We consistently hear this same sad story from customers who we tried to rescue but couldn’t resist the temptation of a bargain price. These customers who fall, victim, usually end up paying $1,000 to $8,000 more than what they should’ve paid if they were given an honest estimate from the broker and the moving company. This is fraud at its finest. For this reason and among many other reasons we choose not to work with brokers. Our customers go directly to us and we service them directly to sustain quality control. We are here with open arms to adopt customers who have been a victim of rogue movers. We want to make things right again for those customers by being an example of a legit moving company with integrity as its core value.
